St. Louis Renaissance Faire in Wentzville MO
It has been mentioned many, many times, Renaissance Faires are normally full of Poly friendly people.
And look, we have one happening over the next 4 weekends, right here in Greater St. Louis!

Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day
May 16 through June 7, 2009 at Wentzville’s Rotary Park

Gates open at 10am, and close at 6pm.
And yes, we are a pet friendly faire.
Oh, and here is a $2 off coupon: http://stlrenfaire.com/docs/gslrf_2off_coupon.pdf
Each coupon is good for up to infinite tickets. If you are getting more then that, please bring a second coupon.

Look! A map so you can find us!

I'll be the guy in tights dancing on the hill. Scary part is people can actually find me using that description.

Poly Holidays
Hi. I just found this LJ community via google search, while trying to find STL area poly groups. Looks like it's been idle quite a while, so I thought I'd stir up conversation to help build community.

Someone recently pointed me towards the youtube video "12 Poly Days of Christmas" which was quite cute. It also got me thinking about poly during the holidays. My sweetie is visiting from out of town over Christmas; I look forward to spending the day with both my husband and my sweetie. Sometimes I'm a little sad that I can't easily share that joy with my birth family. I'm out to them but they don't really seem to understand. Still, I'm glad I can live my life my way and enjoy time with those I love.

How about you? Is poly introducing fun or odd aspects to your holiday season this year? Have stories to share?

Doctor Recs?
Howdy all,

I’m appealing to the St. Louis masses because I’m on the hunt for a new primary care physician. My health care provider, such as it is, is Mercy Health Plans and I’d like to stay somewhat near my apartment (Tesson Ferry and 270) but given enough ringing recommendations I’d be willing to drive. I’ve got a massive listing of potential doctors at my finger tips and no way to reasonably sort through it.

It would be especially great if they’re knowledge able about poly and won’t blink (much) at the fact that I have a few partners.

I’m looking for recommendations but cautions are also appreciated. You can either comment to this post (potential memory?) or, if you’re more comfortable, feel free to send me email. My email address can be found in my user info but for convenience it’s soraidh at livejournal dot com

Thanks much!

PoDGE game night
As many of you already know, lavendargrrl and I are
co-facilitating the next PoDGE meeting. For those who don't, PoDGE is
"Polyamory Discussion Group for Everyone", and meets on the first Friday
of every month at CAMP, 3026 Cherokee St in St. Louis, MO.

Some conversation at the end of the last meeting and a lot of off-line
talk since has convinced us that we all need a night of socializing and
fun--a chance to get more acquainted with each other.

So, on April Fools' Night, it's going to be game night. We'll be
bringing Balderdash, Super Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and whatever else
from the games cabinet looks inspiring. Probably a few decks of cards
and a cribbage board, at minimum. Everyone is invited to bring their
favorite board or card game and try to teach it to us.

We'd appreciate it if some people who have folding tables and chairs
could bring them as well; the CAMP space doesn't really have enough
furniture for this.

New folks are particularly welcome this month (although we always
welcome newcomers) because there won't be any heavy or scary discussion,
just a chance to have fun and get to know some local poly people.

So there are meetings on the first Friday, second Saturday, and third Tuesday? Sounds like a good thing. But who goes to them? Has anybody here ever been to the Poly Meetup, the Munch, or the PODGE event?

Welcome and all that

Welcome to stlpoly.

I hope it will be a way for those of us poly people in the St. Louis area to
find each other and form more of a community. We've had some luck so far
with various meetings, munches, and events, but I hope that some new people
will find us through this LJ meetingplace. I'm sure there are lots more of
us out there, all feeling like "I'm the only one!"

I'm not going to be strict in asking for on-topic posts, since my intent is
to start a community (or give the existing community another way to
connect), but this is not an adults-only place, so please keep conversation
and images to a PG-13 level. Suggestions for a community bio and or
interests gladly accepted, by the way. I just set up the minimum information
to get the thing opened.

None of us bite (hard) (unless asked) so please jump on in, and consider
yourself invited to any event posted here.
